The Trade Union Congress (TUC), has charged the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to liaise with Human Rights groups to push for the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill.

They are also calling on government to ratify the International Labour Organisation’s Convention 183 on maternity protection and those in decent work for domestic workers and workers with family responsibilities.

At a durbar held in Cape Coast to commemorate International Women’s day yesterday, the head of Gender and Child Protection unit of the TUC, Alberta Laryea Gyan, congratulated women on the roles they play in society and urged them to continue to work together to build a society that creates equal opportunities for all.
