Workers of the Ghana Airport Company have temporarily suspended their strike, which disrupted airline operations at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) yesterday (February 26).
Speaking to GBC News, Deputy General Secretary of the Public Services Workers Union, John Sampah said the strike was suspended after a brief meeting with Chief of Staff, Ministers nominee for National Security, Employment and Labour Relations as well as Transport.
The workers gave government up to 15th March to resolve their grievances.
BACKGROUND
The Ghana Airport Company Limited’s Divisional Union of the PSWU of the TUC, yesterday directed all general staff of the Kotoka International Airport to withdraw their services until further notice.
This, according to the Union, due to the Company’s Board’s attempt to shelve the report of an investigative committee which allegedly confirms that Managing Director, Yaw Kwakwa is guilty of mismanagement and abuse of office.
