Three people have died in a fuel tanker explosion at Onyina Nufo in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
The dead includes the driver and mate of the tanker as well as a two-year-old. Several houses have also been burnt.
Ashanti Regional PRO of the Ghana National Fire Service, Desmond Ackah who confirmed this to Behind the News, said other residents have been rendered homeless as a result of the incident.
About five persons were injured and were sent to the Wiawso hospital for treatment. He said NADMO has improvised and provided a temporary shelter for displaced residents.
Apart from the Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO and the Ghana Police Service were at the scene to bring the situation under control.
Mr. Ackah said the explosion occurred when the driver of the fuel tanker tried negotiating a curve.
