An emotional moment unfolded at the Ghana Police Hospital in Accra on Thursday, January 22, 2026, as a father briefly placed his newborn baby in the arms of Ghana’s Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George.
The baby, named Aisha, was born safely after her mother endured eight previous miscarriages. The father, overwhelmed with joy, presented the child to the Minister during his visit to the maternity ward, part of celebrations marking Sam George’s 41st birthday.
“My first born after eight years,” the father said.
Holding the baby, the Minister shared words of hope and encouragement, drawing on his own family experience. “Seven years, ten miscarriages… my mother. It was in the eighth year that I was born,” he said.
Sam George congratulated Aisha’s parents, gave a small gift to the child, and prayed for her future.
“May God bless you and grant you greatness. Any greatness that He has given to me may He give you a double portion. May you be a joy to your parents, your family, and your nation. You will be a great woman,” he said.
The father expressed his gratitude, describing Sam George as one of the ministers he admires and follows on social media and said he would continue to pray for him.
The Minister also made donations of cash and hampers to mothers at the Ghana Police Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital as part of his birthday celebrations.
