In a significant step towards restoring peace and stability in the Kusaug Traditional Area, the Zug-Ran of Kusaug, Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, has successfully facilitated a reconciliation between Kusasi youth leaders and the Ghana Police Service.

This follows recent violent encounters between youth groups and police personnel in the area. In response to the tensions, the Zug-Ran called for dialogue, urging both parties to resolve their differences and collaborate in the interest of peace and effective law enforcement.

The peace dialogue, led by the Kusaug Advisory Council, has yielded positive results, culminating in mutual understanding and a renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.

As part of the resolution, Kusasi youth have initiated a sensitization campaign across all six districts and the municipality within Kusaug to promote cooperation with the police and reinforce community engagement.

According to a statement, the Zug-Ran expressed deep appreciation to the youth for their willingness to embrace peace and commended the police personnel for their professionalism and cooperation. He also gave firm assurances of the safety of police officers and their families, acknowledging the importance of their presence in maintaining law and order.

Additionally, he lauded the Kusaug Advisory Council for its pivotal role in facilitating the dialogue and achieving a peaceful resolution.
