The Electoral Commission has called out statement made by President of Ghanaian Think Tank, IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, as a means to misinform the country with issues relating to the inability of the people of the SALL Constituency to vote during the 2020 elections.

According to a statement signed by the Acting Head of Public Affairs at the Electoral Commission, Michael Boadu, the Electoral Commission finds the audio circulating on social media in which the President of IMANI Ghana accuses the commission of disenfranchising the people of SALL as false and without basis.

The Statement mentioned categorically that, the Electoral Commission never in any way or form disenfranchised the people of SALL Constituency now known as the Guan Constituency. The E.C stressed that, they take no interest in doing so.

The Guan (SALL) Constituency according to the Statement by the E.C could not be created due to a recess Parliament went on ahead of the 2020 general election. The Statement clarified that, processes and procedures needed create the constituency were followed only for Parliament to go on recess.

The E.C futher described it as “unfortunate that IMANI Ghana continues to peddle falsehood and untruths about the Commission at every point and turn”. It described the narratives of Franklin Cudjoe as falsehood and misinformation and urged the public to further on verify every bit of information put out by IMANI about the Electoral Commission for the truth and facts.
