The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commissioned a new state-of-the-art office in the Adentan Municipality in the Greater Accra Region to enhance its 24-hour service delivery.

The Adentan office will provide the full range of DVLA services, including driver licensing and vehicle registration.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, announced plans to establish six overseas offices to help curb the use of fake licences by Ghanaians living abroad.

He stated that the pilot phase will begin in countries such as Germany and Canada.

“The DVLA under my leadership, together with Foster Yeboah, is going to open six new stations outside Ghana to address licensing issues. So far, we have approached some embassies, and we have secured the cooperation of Germany, the UK, the USA, Canada, Dubai, and South Africa. We are going to begin piloting with them,” Mr. Neequaye Kotey said.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Transport, Mr. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, in his address, urged the DVLA management to improve its service delivery and uphold its mandate.

“On behalf of the President, we charge the DVLA to improve service delivery. They are responsible for registering vehicles and ensuring that every vehicle on our roads is roadworthy.

They must ensure that all vehicles are properly registered and that the people of Ghana receive quality service,” the Transport Minister added.
