A former Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service and Founder of the Misornu Safety Centre, DCOP (rtd) David Eklu, has called on the public, especially the Christian community, to prioritize safety during the Easter period.

The call was directed at leaders and families to exercise caution and embrace responsible behaviour on the roads, at home, and during outdoor events, with the ultimate goal of celebrating Easter peacefully and returning home safely.

According to DCOP Eklu, extra caution should be taken in areas such as child safety, avoiding public confrontations, increasing fraud awareness, and ensuring water safety.

Law enforcement officers were also urged to serve the public with dignity and fairness, adopting a non-intimidating demeanour.

They were encouraged to provide assistance and guidance to travellers, particularly families and vulnerable groups, without aggression.

Additionally, officers were reminded to uphold human rights at all times, ensuring that the law is enforced in a way that promotes partnership rather than fear during the festivities.

The Misornu Safety Centre encouraged citizens to cooperate with security and emergency personnel by following safety instructions, reporting hazards promptly, and extending kindness to fellow citizens, making Easter a time of joy and not sorrow.
