Church services were today held across the globe to commemorate Easter Sunday, also called Resurrection Sunday, to mark the rebirth of Jesus Christ.
Resurrection Sunday occurs on the third day following Jesus’ crucifixion on Good Friday by the Romans at Calvary.
Believers celebrate the day as it signifies Jesus Christ’s defeat of death through His resurrection, creating hope of salvation for humanity.
Typical of the day, worshippers at the St. Mark Methodist Church, Darkuman-Accra, wore white with other white accessories, while other members were also spotted in the various organizational uniforms of the church.
They sang and danced over Christ’s defeat over death.
In a sermon, Superintendent Minister of the St. Mark Methodist Church, Darkuman, the Very Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Yalley, entreated Christians not to despair about supplications made to God which they are yet to receive answers.
He said the resurrection of Christ gives renewed hope to believers, especially women, in the kingdom of God. Very Rev. Dr. Yalley encouraged Christians to live a renewed life in Jesus Christ.
The service was used to baptize and confirm members to full membership in the church.
