Leaders of Assemblies of God, Ghana, have engaged in discussions with their British counterparts in Manchester on potential collaboration in missions and leadership development.
The Ghanaian delegation is led by the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Wengam. Other members include the National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam; the Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Tito Agyei; the General Secretary, Rev. Ernest Birikorang; and the General Treasurer, Rev. Simon Abu Baba.
They were received at the headquarters of the UK Assemblies of God by the General Superintendent, Rev. Glyn Barret, who briefed the Ghanaian team on the recent wide-ranging reforms and church planting strategies being pursued by the UK church.
Both leaders currently serve as heads of commissions under the World Assemblies of God Fellowship—Rev. Wengam chairs the Church Health Commission, while Rev. Barret leads the Church Planting Commission. They used the opportunity to discuss collaborative strategies that their respective commissions can adopt to help achieve the MM33 Agenda, which aims to plant one million churches globally by the year 2033.

The Ghanaian delegation was given a tour of the new headquarters acquired by the UK Assemblies of God, as well as the premises of the Audacious Church, pastored by Rev. Barret.
Rev. Wengam and Rev. Barret jointly called on churches across denominations to prioritise missions and human capital development to support societal transformation.
As part of the visit, Rev. Wengam presented gifts and copies of the recently launched Code of Conduct and Ethics for Ghanaian Assemblies of God pastors and their spouses, along with the church’s manual, to Rev. Barret, his wife, and other members of the British team.
