The University Relations Officer of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe says the University has zero tolerance for sexual harassment and rape.
This comes in the wake of two rape cases reported in the University in the course of the week.
In an interview with Joy News, Dr. Bekoe said once a report of such nature is received by authorities, they report the culprit to the Police.
He added that in the case of the two incidents, those involved have been handed over to the Police, saying they are waiting for the court to do its work.
He said once the court completes its work, they will take disciplinary measures against those found culpable.
Dr. Bekoe said education has been stepped up in the University to guarantee the safety of female students by ensuring they do not wade into areas of risk.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bekoe says the victims of the alleged rape cases are undergoing counseling sessions. He added that they also underwent medical treatment and are doing well.
