The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has frozen assets worth more than GH₵100 million and US$100,000 belonging to former Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid, and nine others.
The OSP in a facebook post on Thursday November 6, 2025 said the frozen assets include real estate properties, fuel stations, and logistics vehicles suspected to be connected to an ongoing grand extortion and money laundering case.
The OSP also revealed that additional assets are being traced as investigations continue.
The office explained that the freezing of these assets is in line with its powers under Act 959, which allows it to preserve suspected proceeds of crime until the courts make a final ruling on the case.
