The Police have met with executives of the Nigerian Transport Association in Ghana to strengthen collaboration in the fight against human trafficking.
In a series of posts on X made by the Police Service’s official account, the Service announced this and highlighted the need for the meeting
“The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ghana Police Service to enhance stakeholder partnerships and preventive measures against the crime (human trafficking),” a segment of the post read.

The Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor emphasised the important role of transport operators in detecting and reporting suspicious movements related to human trafficking.
She urged members of the transport association to be vigilant and proactive in their daily activities do they identify and report to law enforcement suspicious activities.
The Deputy Secretary of the Association, Prince Rotimi Adeye, assured the police service of full cooperation to help reduce human trafficking activities.
In recent years there have been a number of incidents where Nigerians were trafficked into the country and found by law enforcement agencies.
