The suspect, Bukari Yakubu, was picked up at his home around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, 10 May 2025, during a police operation based on intelligence. Officers had reportedly been monitoring him prior to the arrest.

A search of his residence led to the discovery of 92 slabs of a substance believed to be Indian hemp, wrapped in yellowish material. Police also found two Royal motorbikes, which they suspect may have been stolen.
