President Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence in Acting Auditor General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu in carrying out his constitutionally mandated duties.
He said Mr. Asiedu has demonstrated sufficient quality and independence of view since succeeding Yaw Domelevo in an acting capacity.
In a meeting with Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition at the Jubilee House, President Akufo-Addo noted that despite the short stay in office of the Acting Auditor General he has done things his predecessor could not do.
He mentioned the compilation of 12 Statutory reports currently before Parliament.
President Akufo-Addo said the process to confirm Mr. Asiedu as a substantive Auditor General has commenced and was confident the process will not delay.
