President Akufo-Addo promises bridge over Oti River before end of his tenure

President Akufo-Addo has assured the people of Oti Region that his government will see to the realisation of the much-anticipated bridge over River Oti at Dambai to facilitate movement of goods and services across the river.

He expressed his determination to execute that project before the end of his tenure, saying that will be one of the legacies of his Presidency.

President Akufo-Addo was addressing members of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs in Dambai as part of a working visit to the region.

President Akufo-Addo’s working visit to the Oti Region saw him interacting with the Chiefs and People. He inspected ongoing projects and inaugurated the CH Global Limited Food Processing Factory, which is a One District, One Factory,1D1F project at Addo-Nkwanta.

He later paid a courtesy call on the Oti Regional House of Chiefs in Dambai. The President of the House, Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna, appealed to President Akufo Addo to fast track infrastructural development in a bid to improve the socio-economic livelihood of the people. He mentioned roads, potable water, reliable electricity supply, and a bridge over River Oti at Dambai, as some of their pressing needs.

President Akufo Addo gave the assurance that after the fulfilment of his campaign promise to create new regions including the Oti Region, his government is committed to rolling out policies and infrastructural developments to enhance the livelihoods of people in the new regions. One of such projects, he said, is the construction of a bridge over River Oti at Dambai.

President Akufo Addo also inspected progress of work on the Oti Regional Coordinating Council project, the Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant in Dambai and other on-going projects on the Eastern Corridor road.
