The President, John Dramani Mahama, is set to receive a final report from the national task force tasked with steering the establishment of a new national airline.
The ten-member task force, chaired by former Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, Mr. Charles Asare, is expected to outline key findings, recommendations and a proposed roadmap for the operationalization of the airline following months of technical assessment and consultations with stakeholders marking a significant step in the government’s efforts to revive Ghana’s national carrier.
The submission of the report to President Mahama is anticipated to inform the next step in decision-making, including possible policy approvals and implementation timelines.
At the inauguration of the ten-member committee made up of experts in aviation, finance and infrastructure development on Tuesday, December 23, Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe emphasized the government’s commitment to establishing a sustainable and efficient national carrier and to position Ghana as a competitive aviation hub in West Africa and also bolster regional air connectivity.
