The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has completed the selection of 2,000 recruits, the first of four planned batches for 2026.
Selected candidates have been asked to report to their regional selection centres on Wednesday, 18 March, at 9:00 a.m. to collect appointment letters and prospectuses. The announcement was made in a press release signed by Captain (Ghana Navy) Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director-General of Public Relations for the GAF.
The first batch includes 18 people injured during the El-Wak Stadium stampede, and five sponsored by families of those who died in the incident.
Potential applicants who were previously rejected for minor medical issues are encouraged to seek treatment. They will be invited again for a review at no cost.
The GAF said it has a pool of highly qualified candidates from the aptitude test, who may be considered for recruitment in future exercises beyond this year.
The Armed Forces also thanked the 16 Regional Administrations for supporting the exercise, which was organised across the regions to bring recruitment closer to applicants, in line with government directives.
Finally, the GAF said the request to recruit individuals from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, who assisted during last year’s helicopter crash rescue operation, is being considered for the second batch of training.
