The CEO of the HATOF Foundation, Dr. Samuel Dotse, has been named Laureate of Distinction in Climate Change at the 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The award was conferred on Dr. Dotse in recognition of his exemplary contributions to sustainable development, environmental conservation, and global climate action.
Selected from a pool of 49 nominees—including prominent government officials, academics, private sector leaders, and civil society actors—Dr. Dotse stood out for his work in biodiversity advocacy, climate finance mobilisation, and capacity building efforts both within Ghana and internationally.
In addition to the award, Dr. Dotse and other honorees received gold medals of special recognition from the Asantehene during a ceremonial dinner held in celebration of their achievements.

The Millennium Excellence Awards, held every five years since 2000, celebrate individuals and institutions that have demonstrated leadership and made significant contributions to sustainable development in Ghana.
Dr. Dotse is an accredited observer to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. He also serves as Africa’s Special Envoy on Climate Change for the International Society of Diplomats and sits on the Climate Investment Funds’ Stakeholder Advisory Network on Climate Finance Board in Washington, D.C., among other international boards and committees.
