Bishop of Sefwi Wiawso Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev Abraham Kobina Ackah, has expressed worry over how some African leaders disrespect the Constitutions of their countries, which tend to undermine democratic culture.
Rt. Rev Abraham Kobina Ackah said this when he received a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle donated to the Sefwi Wiawso Anglican Diocese from President Akufo-Addo.
The President during his recent tour of the Western North Region, worshiped at the church, where he promised them a vehicle.
“All of us are not happy about the Coup d’état because it is the Coup d’état that brought this region into destitution. We’re also not happy about Heads of State when your time is up just leave. Somebody else will come. You want to use other means to still have the 3rd one and that’s what infuriates the people. We pray there will be peace. Ghana, I don’t think this will happen. I know that when the Nana Akufo-Addo term ends, he will leave peacefully for somebody else to take over. This is what we know about democracy’’, Bishop of Sefwi Wiawso Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev. Abraham Kobina Ackah stated.
The Western North Regional Minister, Richard Ebbah Obeng, presented the vehicle on behalf of President Akufo-Addo.
“As part of his programme, he commissioned the newly built Cathedral of the Anglican Church. The President, having been impressed with the magnitude of work done on the Cathedral with the business of worshipping God, said he was going to donate a car to support them so it was to fulfil his promise. As leaders of this country have to demonstrate the values that we talk about that when we promise to do something we have to execute’’, the Western North Regional Minister, Richard Ebbah Obeng said.
