The Member of Parliament for the Talensi Constituency in the Upper East Region, Daniel Dung Mahama, has paid a visit to Earl International Mining Group Gold Ghana Ltd. The visit formed part of his familiarisation tour of mining companies within the constituency.

The MP’s visit was also to formally introduce himself to the company and to discuss concerns raised by his constituents. He highlighted the importance of sustainable mining and compliance with regulations that protect the environment and ensure the safety of the ecosystem.

“There is also the need to always publish any employment opportunity in the company so that our guys who are unemployed but have the requisite qualification can apply and contribute their quota to the growth of the company.”

The MP also urged the company to help improve the area’s road network.

“I know you won’t forget about our roads. When the roads are put in good shape, it will help our farmers and our people who are into business. The Sheaga road, for instance, is in very bad condition, and I’m confident that you’ll improve it for all of us to benefit,” he added.

He further appealed to the company to assist in constructing small irrigation dams to boost agriculture in the area.

“When you are able to assist the farmers with at least 10 tractors and some farm inputs, it’s going to help them engage in all year round farming and that will improve their lives. With some irrigation dams and other support, I don’t think our people will say you haven’t done anything. But we appreciate what you’ve done so far in Talenteng,” Mr. Mahama appealed.

On their part, management of Earl International Mining Group Gold Ghana Ltd commended the MP for the visit and assured him of their readiness to collaborate for the development of the Talensi District.
