The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Media, Arts and Communications,(UniMAC) Professor Eric Opoku Mensah has charged the newly admitted students of the university to embrace the spirit of curiosity in order to become the architect of societal and academic change.

He made these charges while he chaired the university’s second Matriculation ceremony which is also his first after his appointment as Acting Vice Chancellor of the school on February 23, 2024 at the South Legon Campus.

“As you embark on this journey of discovery, I urge you to embrace the spirit of curiosity, teamwork and collaboration that defines our university community”, he said.

He mentioned that though the merger of the constituent institutes of the University might be new, the school fosters an innovational environment that leads to diversified explorations. He also challenged them to go beyond what they know to make an impact in their fields of study.

“At UniMAC we foster an environment that nurtures innovations, critical thinking and the exploration of diverse perspectives. Therefore cease every opportunity to engage with your peers, challenge conventional wisdom and expand the boundaries of your knowledge in the landscape of Media,Arts and Communications”, he added.

The University ushered in officially 2051 students to study Diploma, Higher National Diploma, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Arts and Master of Philosophy programmes at the various constituent institutes of the university.

The Matriculation ceremony was held virtually with a few attendees in person while the rest of the students followed via the official Facebook page of the school. It is also the second time the school has held it’s Matriculation ceremony virtually after the merger.
