President of the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana, Mohammed Zakaria says in hindsight, they will not call off their strike until negotiations end successfully.

The University of Cape Coast Branch President of UTAG, Dr. Samuel Kissi Boadi has hinted of a meeting between the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, today ahead of another one with the NLC on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress, TUC, Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, says the University Teachers Association of Ghana, UTAG, has genuine grievances.

Therefore, government must seriously engage them to address these grievances. Speaking on the sidelines of the National Executive Council Meeting of the Health Services Workers Union, HSWU in Tema, Dr. Baah said a strike is an indication that dialogue has failed and government must show good faith in negotiating with UTAG.
