The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, has assured Ghanaians that the country has enough fuel in stock to last beyond two months.
Speaking at a briefing with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy in Senchi on Saturday, Mr Tamekloe revealed that Ghana currently holds over 200 million litres of petrol and 150 million litres of diesel in reserve.
“I can assure the good people of Ghana that we have enough stock to last us beyond two months, and with all the ongoing efforts, we are confident that there will be no supply disruptions,” he said.
He added that ships carrying additional fuel supplies were already in Ghanaian waters, ready to boost reserves. Mr Tamekloe also highlighted that Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery is now producing large amounts of petrol and diesel, which will help meet Ghana’s national fuel needs.
His remarks come at a time when global energy markets are facing uncertainty, raising concerns about possible fuel shortages. However, the NPA boss stressed that Ghanaians should remain calm, as all necessary steps are being taken to ensure a stable fuel supply across the country.
