The Chief Executive of the Youth Employment Agency, Malik Basintale, has urged tertiary students to identify their purpose, build valuable networks and develop the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive global economy.
Mr Basintale made the remarks at the Empower Vault Summit 2026 held in Accra.
The summit featured panel discussions and interactive mentorship sessions where industry experts shared insights on leadership, financial literacy and business development. Speakers at the event emphasised the importance of self-discovery, resilience and continuous learning in achieving personal and professional success.
They urged the youth to take advantage of digital opportunities, entrepreneurship and innovation to create sustainable livelihoods.

Mr Basintale noted that initiatives like this are essential to empower young people and equip them with the tools required to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, also urged students to engage with mentors and industry experts to gain practical guidance on career pathways.

The Dean of Students Affairs at Ghana Communication Technology University, Emelia Amoako Asiedu, encouraged tertiary students to shape their pathways towards the future and become influential in their communities.
