The Ghanaian Times is disappointed by the posture of Parliamentarians on the passage of the Right To Information Bill and would not stop the advocacy until the desired outcome is achieved. The Times calls on the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye to honor his assurance of the passage of the bill before the end of this year.

The Daily Graphic sees the suggestion that parents and guardians must contribute to the financing of SHS education as progressive. However, for a start, the paper thinks the country should set up a fund for that purpose and encourage all citizens, both home and abroad who are willing to contribute to do so. The Graphic says government can gather data to identify people enjoying the LEAP benefits so children of needy parents can be identified to enjoy the free SHS. The paper calls on the authorities to continue the debate on the best form of financing the initiative.

The Today Newspaper expects the 2019 Budget to address the concerns of the people of Ghana. The paper wants government to use the budget to initiate far reaching measures that can block loopholes in the revenue mobilisation system. According to the paper, the expectations of the people are high because they want to hear concrete efforts to make the living conditions in the country better. The Today Newspaper says issues of access to decent jobs and shelter, basic social infrastructure and services and quality public investment must be addressed to secure the future of the country.

The Daily Heritage urges all Ghanaians to support the Black Queens to win the ultimate at the Africa Women Cup of Nations which begins on Saturday. This will be the first tournament the country is hosting after successfully staging CAN 2008. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, says everything has been put in place to motivate the players to win the trophy  to make Ghana proud. The paper advices Ghanaians to be patriotic by thronging the Accra Staduim to throw their weight behind the Black Queens.
