Ghana joins the world October 15 to mark Global Handwashing Day and the Daily Graphic expresses worry over the proper way of handwashing. It says handwashing with soap is a ‘do-it-yourself vaccine’ that prevents infections and saves lives. The paper says washing the hands must be especially done at critical times, such as after using the toilet, before eating or touching food, under running water and with soap. The paper therefore encourages everyone to religiously observe strict and proper handwashing at critical times to not only stay healthy but also stay alive and ensure same for one’s family. That it says will definitely help reduce Ghana’s health burden drastically.

The Daily Heritage is disappointed in the Minister for Works and Housing, Samuel Atta-Akyea for the needless recall of problems instead of appreciating the effort of former President Mahama in the Saglemi Housing Project and failure to accept sole blame for not taking the necessary step to make use of the facilities since he resumed office and almost two years of the inauguration of the facilities. The paper says development is a continual process hence the Ministry is worthy to continue the works of the previous administration. The Heritage says there is the need to stop politicising the one thousand five hundred housing units which can contribute a whole lot for Ghanaians. It urges the Minister to fix whatever is needed to be done for Ghanaians to enjoy the facilities.
