The Daily Graphic is amazed at the unscrupulous behaviour of Ghanaians towards sanitation in recent years. The paper is puzzled at how some Ghanaians deliberately refuse to keep their surroundings tidy, with the excuse that if they do not make the mess, sanitary workers will not have work to do. It recounts the days when sanitary inspectors or ‘saman saman’ and ‘tankas’ as was known in the local parlance were very visible and effective. This the paper says coincided with a clean Ghana because Ghanaians paid more attention to sanitation. The Graphic therefore sides with the call by former President Rawlings for a social sense of responsibility in managing the insanitary conditions in the country, to avoid being engulfed in the filth.

The Ghanaian Times is delighted about the peaceful engagement between the leaders of Andanis and the Abudus ahead of the Late Ya-Nas Funeral.

The paper feels that the purpose of this engagement would solicit support from all stakeholders and ensure a violent- free atmosphere at the funeral. The paper however appeals to both clans especially the youth not to engage in any act of violence that will thwart the efforts of the peace process. This, the paper says would promote peace and harmony in the area so as well as portray their rich culture.
