The Daily Graphic commends the Presidency, Ministry of Information and the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, for facilitating all three interactions with the press, during which the President made himself available to be scrutinised. The paper considers the engagements as a testament to the country’s growing democracy. The Graphic believes that Ghanaians of all political persuasions must be humble and magnanimous enough to praise the good policies of whichever government is in power with the same vehemence that they condemn things that do not sit well with them. The paper prays that the concerns expressed by the media will be taken in good faith, so that going forward the media will hold the President to account to the good people of Ghana.

The Ghanaian Times applauds the initiative by the presidency to get closer to the media and interact with them, to answer some of the nagging questions bothering the people. It says Ghana’s democracy is growing and there is need to sustain the initiative and make it better, as the years go by. The paper believes there is much room for improvement and hope that, as a listening leader, the President would take on board all the views, suggestions and concerns raised and address them in subsequent engagements. The paper urges the President to continue to demystify the presidency and bring himself closer to the local media by finding more time to engage with journalists in his subsequent regional tours.
