The Daily Graphic commends Varkey Foundation for instituting the Global Teacher Prize which recognises teachers who made outstanding contribution to the profession. The paper congratulates Robert Gariba of the Richard Akwei School in Accra on being part of the top fithty shortlisted for the awards. It says despite the good teachers in Ghana, there seems to be a disconnect between them and educational outcomes. The Graphic calls on the Ghana Education Service to strengthen its supervisory role in the country’s educational system and provide enough Teaching and Learning Materials while urging teachers to make good use of the available materials for more global recognitions.

The Ghanaians Times agrees with the Director General of the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards PIPS, COP Kofi Boakye that vigilantism is escalating and it is a clear danger for the country in 2020 and the time has come for all to say enough is enough to stop the acts of hooliganism. The paper is of the view that it is time for politicians to stop paying lip service to vigilantism and disband their groups to show commitment to peace in the 2020 general election. It calls on government to take concrete steps to create an enabling environment for the security agencies to work in peace without fear of victimisation. It says due to political influences; the security agencies are unable to clamp down on the activities of these groups for fear of being victimised. The Times urges politicians not to forget that they are equally vulnerable to the dangers vigilante groups pose to the people and must put aside their immediate personal interest for peaceful elections in 2020.
