THE Daily Graphic commends Dr. Asare Offei who led a team of doctors and other medical professionals to perform a successful surgery on the liver of a 67 year old woman at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. The paper urges the team to strive for greater successes in their chosen field of practice. It notes that as a developing country, it is imperative to work hard to catch up with the rest of the world. The Graphic encourages Ghanaians, especially regulatory and academic institutions as well as professional bodies to take a second look at how they treat compatriots who return home with professional skills. It emphasises that they should be helped to fit into the system and contribute to national development.

The Daily Heritage draws attention to acts by some individuals to avoid paying tax. These, it says, includes producing goods at midnight for sale to avoid detection by the Ghana Revenue Authority. The paper agrees with the Finance Minister that enforcing tax compliance would help government to achieve domestic revenue targets of 57.8 billion cedis. It urges enforcing agencies especially the Special Prosecutor to punish severely all who are found culpable, to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Ghanaian Times prays that government and FIFA continue to give the necessary support to enable the Normalisation Committee to work harder to return Ghana football to normalcy. The paper notes that Ghana football was brought to its knees when Ace Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye team uncovered scandals in the administration of football in Ghana, following which FIFA and government agreed to set up  the Normalisation Committee to run football for six months. The  paper the says the early exit of the Black Queens from the African Women Cup of Nations should send a strong signal that there is a lot of work to be done to get the country back to its status in African football. It urges the Committee not repeat the mistakes of the past adding that though the Black Stars are on the brink of qualifying for the 2019 AFCON to be held in Cameroon, things are still not normal with the team.
