The Ghanaian Times calls for more support for the Black Stars as they endure a difficult start to their 2019 AFCON campaign. According to the paper, the Stars are traditionally slow starters in the AFCON tournament, citing the 1978 and 82 AFCONs as typical examples where the Black Stars failed to win both opening games but went on to win the trophy. The Times urges the Black Stars to remain focused and avoid any temporary loss of concentration during matches as they face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun on June 29 in a must win game for them.

The Daily Graphic urges the Electoral Commission (EC) to be firm in its implementation of laws governing political parties to sanitise the country’s political space. According to the paper, just a hand full of the 24 registered political parties are vibrant and contribute to the governing process. The paper is puzzled at how the EC has allowed political parties especially NDC and NPP to go unpunished, as they have failed to submit updated statement of accounts as required by law. With election 2020 approaching, the Graphic calls on the EC to crack the whip on political parties flouting its laws for the good of all.
