Three hundred suspects, including 86 foreign nationals have been arrested in a joint security operation by Ghana, Cote d’ivoire and Burkina Faso.

The exercise code named ‘Operation Koudanlgou 2018,’ aims at combating trans-border crimes, including terrorism, drug and human trafficking, arms dealing, and smuggling along the common borders of the three countries.

The operation involves security personnel from the three countries stationed at Bole in the Northern Region.

The Ministry of National Security in a statement explained that the exercise was first organised in May between Ghana, Togo, Benin and Burkina Faso.

Addressing journalists at Bole after a tour of some of the communities, the Commander in-charge of the Operation revealed that the suspects have been screened and arraigned before the Bole Magistrate court.

He said arrangements are underway to repatriate the foreign nationals back to their countries.

About five hundred makeshift structures have been destroyed at Dokokyina in the Bole district.

The operation area stretches from Banda Nkwanta and Bole National Park in the Northern Region, through Hamile to Tumu in the Upper West Region.
