The Daily Graphic appeals to government to put in measures to cushion the masses against difficult economic conditions. Due to the impact of global prices of crude oil and other petroleum products on the cost of transportation in the country, governments, past and present, have always endeavoured to introduce interventions by providing public buses to help the people commute from one place to another at a lower cost. The paper finds it unfortunate that after spending millions of Ghana cedis to acquire buses to improve the transport services in Ghana, the buses are left to the mercy of the weather while commuters struggle to get vehicles home. The Graphic hopes government will reconsider the model and ensure the service is restored in the best interest of the public.

The Ghanaian Times asks the nation to sit up and fight the carnage on the roads. The paper calls for strong enforcement of the traffic regulations and the Motor Transport and Traffic Department of the Ghana Police Service to intensify its efforts in ensuring individuals comply with the traffic regulations. The Times advises the MTTD not to compromise its positions so that those who flout the law would be punished when found guilty. This, the paper believes will put fear in wrongdoers and make them do the right thing on the roads.
