Sources close to the Ashaiman District Police Command say about nine inmates in the Cell have tested positive for COVID-19.
The infected inmates are alleged hardened criminals, and it is unclear how they contracted the virus.
According to a source, the inmates were transferred to a nearby Police Station last Friday, May 8 instead of being taken to an Isolation Centre to start treatment.
