Bawumia urges Ghanaians to disregard '24-hour Economy' promise by Mahama

The Vice President and flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has admonished Ghanaians to disregard the promise made by Former President John Dramani Mahama to introduce a 24-hour economy.

He said the candidate of the National Democratic Congress, does not understand the ’24-hour economy’ promise he is making to Ghanaians.

The Former President and leader of the NDC has outlined his vision for a 24-hour economy when he is re-elected as President of Ghana.

The policy, he believes will enhance economic growth and create job opportunities to address the high unemployment rate in the country.

Mr. Mahama has also said the policy will be voluntary and promised that the next NDC administration will give tax incentives to encourage businesses and private sector participation. Dr. Bawumia, however noted that, most institutions are already running a 24-hour service.

The Vice President was addressing a gathering of supporters when he visited Tamale as part of his “Thank You tour” of the Northern region.

The delegation of the NPP’s 2024 Presidential candidate include National Chairman, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, Ministers of State, MPs led by the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Government Appointees, MMDCEs and party functionaries.
