The Bible Society of Ghana has donated 800 Bibles to inmates of the Kumasi Central Prisons.

This is in accordance to its mission of making God’s Word available and affordable, and encourage its use to transform lives.

Speaking to GBC’s Garden City Radio, the Kumasi Head of the Bible Society of Ghana, Richard Kwasi Offei explained that the organization seeks to support the pastoral work of comfort in the Prisons and Correctional centers by giving Bibles to inmates.

He said prisoners have a range of problems including helplessness, frustration, abandonment, stigmatization, anger and fear.

Therefore, the Society hopes to address these needs by offering Scriptures to support a designed Bible study for the inmates to experience the life transforming power of God’s Word.

The Assistant Public Relations Officer of the Kumasi Central Prisons, George Owusu thanked the Bible Society of Ghana for its continued support and quest to use God’s Word to transform the lives of the prisoners.

He advised especially the youth to desist from acts that will lead to their imprisonment.
