Bible Society Ghana launches 2024 Bible Week

The General Secretary of the Bible Society of Ghana, Very Rev. Dr. John Kwesi Addo Jnr, has asked all Societies, Branches, Temples, or Assemblies and churches and Ghanaians to appreciate who they are in Christ first, and allow the peaceful Christlike nature to dictate our behaviours before, during and after the 2024 general elections. This is because the Bible enjoins all to make every effort to live in peace with everyone.

He said this while the Bible Society of Ghana launched its 2024 Bible Week with the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Odorkor District under the theme; “The Bible: Guide for peace, Unity and Development.”

The Bible society is a non-denominational, interconfessional Christian organization set up by churches in Ghana for the purpose of making God’s Word available and affordable to transform lives. It operates with voluntary membership from individual Christians and churches in Ghana and beyond.

Speaking at the 2024 Bible week launch, the General Secretary of the Bible Society of Ghana, Very Rev. Dr. John Kwesi Addo Jnr said, “we must appreciate who we are in Christ first, and allow the peaceful Christlike nature of ours to dictate our behaviours before, during and after the elections”.

Very Rev. Addo Jnr appealed to all to support the Bible Society of Ghana with financial, material and Human Resources, to ensure that its goal of making the Bible available and affordable to transform lives in achieved.

He said the Bible gives hope to all through God’s promises. Rev. Dr. Addo encouraged all Ghanaians to study God’s word, teach and obey it.



A Pastor of the Church of Salvation Army, Territorial Commander, Col. Seth Apenteng who also spoke at this year Bible week launch appealed to churches, Christians and the Bible Society of Ghana to make Bible available to all Ghanaians. This will help develop the country.

The Bible Week, is observed annually in the month of February. It is a period set aside by the Bible Society of Ghana, together with the Christian Churches in the country, to thank God for Bible work and also to highlight the translation efforts that have made the Bible available in various local languages for easy understanding and use.
