Bondholders, including pensioners, have been invited by the Government to be part of the fresh Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), which will be restricted to ESLA Plc and Daakye Trust Plc bonds.

The Pensioner Bondholders Forum has declared its intention not to be part of the Programme.

This was contained in a letter issued by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, calling on domestic bondholders.

Dr. Adu Anane Antwi, the Convener of the forum, explained that no pensioner is available to accept the government’s offer.

He was addressing journalists in Accra on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Dr. Adu Antwi announced that pensioners cannot be part of the newly announced offer.

He emphasised that they have been exempted.

Dr. Anane Antwi mentioned that if government fails to pay them their dividends by Monday, they will embark on a demonstration.
