The President, John Dramani Mahama, has expressed confidence that Ghana will soon become Africa’s leading hub for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).

Highlighting the country’s strategic advantages while addressing participants at the launch of the One Million Coders Programme in Accra on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, President Mahama emphasised Ghana’s unique position on the Greenwich Meridian, its English-speaking population, and its vibrant, tech-savvy youth as key factors that make the country an ideal destination for outsourcing services.

“Ghana has the potential to be Africa’s premier business process outsourcing hub. We are strategically located on the Greenwich Meridian, we are English-speaking, and we have a vibrant, tech-savvy youth population,” Mr. Mahama stated.

The President underscored the importance of equipping young Ghanaians with the right digital skills and infrastructure to enable them to compete in the global outsourcing market.

He explained that such opportunities could provide well-paying jobs, helping families and communities to thrive within Ghana.

“With the right digital skills and infrastructure, our young people can outsource jobs around the world — jobs that pay well and keep families and communities thriving right here at home,” President Mahama remarked.
