Ghana is to sign an MOU with Cote D’Ivoire to facilitate the bi-directional transportation of gas. This will be achieved after the completion of the 20 inch-52 kilometre pipeline from Atuabo to Cote d’Ivoire.
President Akufo-Addo made this known when he commissioned a State of the Art Operational Office Complex of the Ghana National Gas Company at ‘A B Bokazo’ in the Ellembelle district of the Western Region.
The office Complex is expected to deliver first-class gas operations, and support services for the country’s gas sector, to ensure reliable and sustainable gas supply for power generation.
President Akufo-Addo indicated that Ghana Gas is a key player in the country’s industrialisation agenda.
Ghana Gas will also construct an onshore gas pipeline from Takoradi to Tema. This, he said, will be a game changer, as it will enable industries along the coast to have access to reliable power source.
President Akufo-Addo said the enclave is receiving enough attention to make it the hub of oil and gas.
The Chief Executive of Ghana Gas, Dr Ben Asante, attributed the ability of the company to fully indigenize under three years of operation, to the capability and hard work of those in-charge of the plant.
