As the Finance Minister presents the 2020 Financial and Fiscal policy to Parliament this morning, the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, (ICU) is appealing to government to scrap some income and over time taxes that have, for years suffocated Ghanaian workers.

General Secretary of ICU, Solomon Kotei, told Radio Ghana in Accra, that the Union expects the Finance Minister to prioritise the problems of Ghanaian workers in the 2020 budget

In a related development, a Chartered Economist, Dr. Ebenezer Ashley has said the Budget statement must address the needs of all categories of Ghanaians.

Stressing the need for increasing the tax net, Dr. Ashley said Ghana, has the lowest tax regime on the continent and this must be reviewed to correspond with increase in production.
