President Akufo-Addo has conferred “The State Honour of Ghana: Companion of the Order of Volta”, on the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana COCOBOD, Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, and the Director General of Le Conseil du Café-Cacao (CCC), M. Ibrahima Kone Yves.
The State Award was conferred on them for their excellent contribution to the development of the cocoa industry, and improvement in the circumstances of cocoa farmers in their respective countries.
As a result of their hard work, a new cocoa trading mechanism has been implemented.
This allows for a new cost item of US$400.00 per tonne for every bag of cocoa sold by the two nations, effective from the 2020/2021 season. This is called the Living Income Differential.
