Ghana’s Partial lockdown is in day five with mixed concerns about the country’s food security.

While the Agriculture Minister has cautioned Ghanaians to stop panic buying because there is enough food in the system, misinformation in areas like the Volta Region which is not under lockdown is being used to compel farmers to stay away from the farms.

George Ankrah sought the views of a Scientist and Agriculturalist, Prof. Roger Kanton on what should be done to avoid food insecurity as the major rainy season sets in.

Prof. Kanton asked the President and the Agriculture Minister to resist any form of sabotage in the country’s effort to stop the spread of the virus.

He said the spate of misinformation is likely to impact on this year’s agriculture production.
