The Ho Diocesan Catholic Health Services has marked this year’s World Day of the Sick with a call on the government to increase its assistance to private health care providers in the country.

The acting Director the Service, Emmanuel Hanson Torde who made the call noted that some of their facilities are at the verge of collapse due to indebtedness and lack of medical supplies.

He said the financial challenge is mainly because of delays in payment of health insurance claims by the National Health Insurance Authority.

The ceremony coincided with the fourth Diocesan Best Health Workers Awards.
