Commercial vehicles are to return to taking the normal number of passengers in their vehicles.

Public transport commonly referred to as trotro and taxi had to reduce the number of passengers on board their vehicles to comply with Government’s social distancing protocols.

Government, in consultation with the leadership of transport operators, has lifted the restrictions in the transport sector, allowing for the loading to full capacity in domestic airplanes, taxis, trotros and buses. The wearing of masks in vehicles and aircraft, and the maintenance of enhanced hygiene protocols, remain mandatory.

President Akufo-Addo said the country’s borders remain closed.
