Ghana has suspended its consular services to Italy with immediate effect following the outbreak of the Coronavirus in that country.

A statement from the Ghanaian Embassy in Italy indicated the ban is until further notice regretting any inconvenience that may cause anyone requiring its services.

Italy has recorded over 300 cases of the virus and 11 deaths over the past few weeks.

This has resulted in the European country cancelling several Serie A games as well as other public events involving large gatherings.

Some cities and towns remain on lockdown indefinitely.
