An Accra High Court Judge, Justice Jerome Nkrumah has fixed Thursday, February 28, for a default judgement in a case between 53 soldiers and Menzgold Ghana Limited, a Gold Dealership Company, for failing to pay back their total investment of two point five million Ghana cedis.
Menzgold failed to make a defense in two separate hearings. This compelled Counsel for the soldiers, Yaw Owusu Anane-Asante to file a motion praying the court for a judgement in default.
The plaintiffs are praying the court to order a refund of their money, which they invested in the Company.
They argue that even if the defendant cannot pay their interest, they are entitled to their principals.
