The covid-19 pandemic has raved and ruined many businesses but those in the business of selling Dawadawa, the disease has revived and revitalize their business thanks to the prominence given to the tree by President Akufo-Addo in his 9th address on coronavirus.

“We have to improve our hygiene, our fitness and exercises, our eating, generally, our style of living, which will boost our immunity to disease and the virus. For instance, we are told that the key vitamins that fortify our immune system are vitamins A, B6, C, and E. Fortunately for us, in Ghana, all of these can be found in many of our foods, such as oranges, Kontomire, millet, cashew nuts, crabs, plantain, Okro, Dawadawa, Brown rice and Mushrooms.”

According to the President, although much attention has not been given to it, this measure is equally important and must not be taken for granted.

GBC’s Upper East correspondent, Samuel Ayammah, reports that a visit to the Bolgatanga market showed that patronage of Dawadawa by residents in the Bolgatanga Municipality has increased.
