Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr. Hadzide said whatever action government undertook was not carried out after a day’s investigations, but a painstaking action that took 15 months of surveillance and information gathering.

The alleged coup plotters were arrested on Friday in possession of fire arms and ammunition by a combined security team.

A statement by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said the operation was “to neutralize an elaborate plot targeted at the Presidency, and with the ultimate aim of destabilizing the country.

Meanwhile, a Security Analyst, Adam Bonaa has commended the security agencies for the arrest of three people over alleged plot to distabilize the country.

Mr. Bonaa noted that though it might have taken a while for the Agencies to affect the arrest of the three, many things would have gone into the investigations that led to their arrest.

Also speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana, Mr. Bonaa said looking at the security apparatus, no individual can distabilise the country.

Mr. Bonaa said though we must be worried about criminal activities, the arrest of the three to allegedly plotting to distablise the country, does not connote insecurity.

He suggested that the public be regularly informed about investigations into the three persons arrested over the alleged plot to destabilise the country.

Mr. Bonah also asked that the police be allowed to handle all communications on the investigations instead of the information Ministry.
